AI IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: SARAJEVO’S IMPACT ON LOCAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

Abstract

In a new era of artificial technology, many institutions and businesses changed their concept of work and management. The influence of artificial intelligence (AI) has its reflection on the government sector in many countries all over the world. AI requires the entire package of knowledge, skills and assessment, necessary for employees within public institutions to achieve their strategic goals. First, AI basic skills are necessary for government servants if they want to create a faster working environment. Using basic AI chatbots such as ChatGPT can provide an innovative approach for managing daily tasks in government institutions.

As one of the scientific approaches, this article uses one of the examples of public institutions, based in Sarajevo, to analyze their transformational process into a modern one. The process of using the basic chatbot in project planning, project construction and idea realization for the local development is crucial for the continuous improvement of Sarajevo city and transforming it into a smarter city. Through the desk analysis, case study, and situation analysis, the study found that the impact of AI can improve project development and make the better problem-solving environment between the government employees, which will be provided in the conclusion of this paper.
