Abstract

In this paper, a studious analysis will present new opportunities for the application of artificial intelligence in the project management process, perspectives will be presented on how it could contribute to improving efficiency and effectiveness in managing IT projects by using sophisticated analytical methods, process automation, predictive models and the application of methods, techniques and tools of business intelligence. Although practice research shows that more than 75 percent of projects end in failure or exceeding deadlines, costs, etc. there is still not a sufficient number of scientific and professional works on this topic. The fundamental goal of the work is based on the process of managing IT projects related to artificial intelligence and assessing the possible impact, defining the strengths and weaknesses of using artificial intelligence in project management. The main purpose of this research is to objectively compare the strengths and weaknesses of methods, techniques and tools for project management and to identify the best practices and useful aspects that could be used by small and medium-sized enterprises and business systems in Kosovo and Metohija and in the surrounding area when choosing the most suitable software tool for their specific needs of the project management process. The methodology of a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of scientific research will be applied in the paper. The results of the research will provide a better understanding of the possible effects of artificial intelligence on the process of project management and implementation and support and facilitate the business decision-making process of company management in the acquisition and selection of methods, techniques and concrete software tools for project management processes.
