IMPLEMENTATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN COMPANIES DEALING WITH CAR SERVICING IN BELGRADE

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to assess the level of implementation of Environmental Management Systems in companies dealing with car servicing in Belgrade, i.e. to determine the percentage of companies from this filed certified to ISO 14001 and EMAS.  The empirical research in this paper was conducted using the data collected from 22 companies that deal with vehicle service repair in Belgrade as an example. The data were collected through field research and a poll of the management of the companies via a questionnaire, whereas the data analysis was performed by using descriptive statistics. The results provide the main reasons for implementation are precondition for new jobs (getting certification of authorized dilers/services) improving the satisfaction of customers and attitude towards the environment.
